According to research not eating healthy food or bad eating habits has become a major challenge to our health. With the bad food we put in our body without any nutritional value, with large volumes of unhealthy fats and lack of better balanced diet are the main causes of serious sicknesses such as heart disease, cancer, diabetes, kidney problems, obesity and stroke.

Treating this illnesses can drain you all your life work savings and leave you poor and in the long run not be cured. These problems without quality care and medications can lead to death. Most Americans spent almost 91% of their income yearly in hospital bills because of issues related to poor eating habits. Its unfortunate as all this problems can be avoided by eating healthy food.

Does anyone know what eating healthy means? They can raise their hands as you get their ideas. Eating healthy is following a healthy eating pattern that includes a variety of nutritious foods and drinks. This healthy food consists of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, low-fat dairy products and protein rich foods such as seafood, eggs, beans, poultry, and nuts and so on. 

Eating healthy requires you to limit ingredients such as sodium, mostly found in table salt that is put in excess in packaged foods, added sugars in form of sweeteners that are added to soft drinks, yoghurt or sugar itself, refined grains and starches which are key ingredients in cakes, bread, cookies or other snacks and saturated fats which can come from animal products such as whole milk, poultry, fatty meats and butter.

Eating healthy may not be enjoyable at first but with the better health results, you should be determined to achieve it. Most students use unhealthy means to get into shape such as skipping meals but that greatly hurts their bodies. By eating healthy foods such as fruits and vegetables, you will get the shape you are looking for in a healthy manner.

Eating healthy has a lot of health benefits. For students who need to lose weight, this should be your first solution. Being overweight comes with a lot of problems such as heat diseases and diabetes mellitus. You can correct all these through a better meal plan filled with whole fruits and fruits with low and balanced calories that is needed for your body. Avoiding processed foods can be a great help too. Taking fiber rich foods will leave you feeling full for longer aiding in reducing large food portions intake. There will be reduced cancer risks. Poor eating habits may cause obesity which increases the development of cancer cells in the body. From a study in 2014, research found that diet rich in fruits reduced chances of upper gastrointestinal tract. Fruits and vegetables are loaded with antioxidants and photochemical which protect cells from damage that leads to cancer. Moreover, you will have improved memory and sleep. These are vital requirements of any student. A better rest will ensure you have better concentration all day and a better memory will give ensure you understand what you are taught and you remember things. A diet full of vitamins D, C and E and omega-3 fatty acids and avoiding alcohol consumption and caffeine are a great help. Last but not least, you will have better mood and strong bones which are important for relationships and better play.

We all love to eat every kind of food whether health or unhealthy. However, you should not deprive yourselves as you can have junk food once in a while but in moderation as the excess will be a danger to your health; Physically, mentally and spiritually. Eating healthy will have a lot of benefits from preventing health conditions to boosting your memory and improving sleep and strong bones.
